Typing is having her first run back after finishing tenth to Press Statement in the Group 1 $600,000 BMW Australia J.J. Atkins (1600m) at Doomben on June 6 but her previous Winter Carnival form was very good.

Trainer Stuart Kendrick will be hoping that Typing runs up to his expectations so he can concentrate on the $2m Magic Millions 3yo Guineas (1400m) at the Gold Coast on January 9.

“She’s had a couple of jumpouts here at Caloundra. One was over 850 metres when she was run off her legs but I was really happy with her last effort over 1200 metres when she ran home well for third,” Kendrick told Queensland Racing News.

“She’s always shown a lot of potential and she did a great job in her only preparation.

“Saturday will tell the tale but hopefully we’re heading towards the Magic Millions Guineas if all goes to plan.”

The Sebring filly was a convincing winner of the Listed $100,000 Channel 7 Dalrello Stakes (1200m) at Toowoomba  on May 2 before running fifth to Look To The Stars in the Group 2 $250,000 Mitavite Australia BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes (1350m) at Doomben on May 23.

“She probably had had enough by the time she ran in the Atkins,” Kendrick said.

“She won the Dalrello well at Toowoomba and her run in the Sires’ was excellent when she got back and ran home strongly.

“I thought it was a top run and the form out of the Sires has been great.”

Jockey Brad Stewart will be having his first ride on Typing and will need plenty of luck on the backmarker who has drawn the inside gate.

In early betting for the Mode Plate Typing is marked as a $9 with Ladbrokes.com.au who have the Tony Gollan trained Secret Saga the $3.50 favourite.

Secret Saga has earned the top spot in the betting after winning two of her last three starts, the latest in a 1050m three year old Handicap at Doomben two weeks ago.
