Josh Parr wasted no time taking up the running with Tycoon Tara and she controlled the race from the outset before she kicked away at the top of the turn.

The resuming First Seal loomed on the outside with 200 metres left to go, but Tycoon Tara was far too strong in the final stages of the race and she recorded her third win from four starts for Team Snowden.

Parr is on the comeback trail from a serious injury and he was clearly delighted to have recorded a feature race win in the Golden Pendant for Team Snowden.

“She is a superb mare,” Parr said.

“I rode her Thursday morning and it gave me so much confidence for today.

“She was just so nice for me midrace and she had a nice breather in the middle stages of the race.

“She was able to build momentum and really let down off that.

“What a mare, god love her.

Team Snowden has worked wonders with Tycoon Tara and she has now won the Group 2 Missile Stakes (1200m), the Group 3 Show County Quality (1200m) and the Group 2 Golden Pendant (1400m) since being transferred from the care of Symon Wilde.

Snowden said that his original plan was to send Tycoon Tara for a freshen-up following her run in the Golden Pendant, but he revealed that he is now likely to keep her in work while she is able to maintain her simply outstanding form.

“She just keeps on improving,” Snowden said.

“She is a race-hard fit mare that tries very hard, she is easy to ride, she makes her own luck and she is very genuine.

“She had form before she came here and it is not like we reinvented the wheel with her, but I think she is in a really good spot at the moment and she loves being up here.

“She has furnished into a magnificent type, she looks like a colt, and she has a great temperament.

“I’ll have to have a think about things now because I did think about a bit of a freshen-up, but it is pretty hard to tip them out when they are racing this well.

“We will find another race for her shortly.”

First Seal loomed as the winner, but she was a touch plain in the final stages of the race, while Dixie Blossoms toughed it out on the speed for second.
