Another day, another inquiry, this time relating to a New South Wales based trainer who has been fined for cheating.
Stewards for Racing New South Wales handed down the punishment to Gordon Yorke after the Coffs Harbour based trainer pled guilty to running a horse with elevated levels of testosterone in his system.
The investigation was opened after tests revealed the drug in urine samples taken on January 18.
They came from the horse Mooltan after the gelding won a maiden at the Grafton meeting.
Yorke was fined $7,000 over the incident but it could ahve been a lot worse had the stewards not gone easy on him after taking into account his guilty plea, his cooperation with officials and his previous good record.
As part of the punishment Mooltan was also stripped of his maiden victory.
