Co-trainer Peter Snowden has revealed that the Group 3 Toy Show Quality (1300m) on August 20th is likely to figure as the next point of call for Tycoon Tara, after the mare returned to racing for an impressive win in the Group 2 Missile Stakes (1200m) over the weekend.

Jumping from the gates well, jockey Blake Shinn allowed Tycoon Tara to stride forward and immediately take up the pace; setting a fair tempo for the small but classy field of five in the Missile Stakes.

Offered a clear racing line upon arriving at the final straight, the Written Tycoon mare immediately responded when asked for an extra effort by Shinn; kicking clear to find the line a half-length in the clear of Rebel Dane.

Understandably pleased with her first-up performance for success, Snowden revealed that plans to retire the mare into a career as a broodmare may be put on hold if she continues to win.

“It’s a great result for the new owners,” Snowden said.

“Gee, she was very brave. You could see the flag going up about 100m out.

“It was very taxing today, but she put her hand up and had a good crack – good on her.

“If she keeps winning she might not be going to stud.

“But the idea was to give her two or three runs to see if we could get her back to her old form.

“The Toy Show is probably the race we’ll head to, from there we’ll just see what happens.

“There’s plenty of options, but getting her winning, that was the important thing today and she’s done that.”

Tycoon Tara began her racing career under the guidance of trainer Simon Wilde in the spring of 2013 and has posted a number of impressive results through a total of twenty-three competitive starts.

Arguably reaching career-best condition to date through the 2015 Autumn Carnival, Tycoon Tara posted wins in each of the Group 3 Bellmaine Stakes (1200m) and Group 3 Premier Signs Stakes (1400m) before finishing a credible fifth in the Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes (1020m) most notably.

The 2016 Toy Show Quality field and barrier draw is due to be completed and released by midday, Wednesday August 17th.
