The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained Thyme For Roses is a winner of two of her five race starts, including a victory down the Flemington straight in the Group 3 $150,000 TBV Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes (1200m) on March 12 during the Melbourne Autumn Carnival.

With only fourteen fillies entered for the Silver Shadow Stakes, the Australian Turf Club has extended the nominations deadline until 11am on Tuesday, August 16, 2016.

Also among the entries for the Silver Shadow Stakes is the John O’Shea trained Calliope who performed well during the 2016 Sydney Autumn Carnival.

Calliope is the winner of two of her four starts and after winning the Listed $150,000 Gimcrack Stakes (1000m) at Randwick on October 3, came back in the Autumn at the beginning of the year to win the Group 2 $175,000 Bede Murray Magic Night Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill on March 12.

That win earned Callliope a start in the Group 1 $3.5m Longines Golden Slipper (1200m) at Rosehill on March 19, but the Exceed And Excel filly was never in contention from barrier fourteen when twelfth to Peter and Paul Snowden trained Capitalist.

The Snowdens will be represented in the Silver Shadow Stakes with their smart filly Quick Feet who has already begun her Spring Carnival campaign with a first up fifth to Thronum in the Listed $100,000 The Randwick City Council Rosebud (1200m) at Randwick on August 6.

Brisbane’s premiership winning trainer Tony Gollan has nominated his speedy filly Zelady’s Night Out to kick off her Spring Carnival campaign in the Silver Shadow Stakes.

Zelady’s Night Out was a winner at her first three starts over the summer months, including a victory in the Group 3 $150,000 B.J. McLachlan Stakes (1200m) at the Gold Coast on December 26.

Gollan has already tested the Myboycharlie filly against Sydney opposition but she failed to fire when last of six to French Fern in the Group 2 $300,000 Reisling Stakes (1200m) at Randwick during the 2016 Autumn Carnival.

Premiership winning trainer Chris Waller has entered two fillies for the Silver Shadow Stakes, Omei Sword and Gretna.

Omei Sword showed some promise in the Autumn with one win from three starts and was also narrowly beaten when second to Calliope in the Magic Night Stakes while Gretna has visited the winner’s stall on one occasion from four race starts.

Anthony Cummings also has two fillies among the nominations, the unraced Uncle Mo filly, Ma Tante, and Moqueen by the same sire.
