Team Snowden could have two runners in the Listed $100,000 Starlight Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill on Saturday if dual nominee That’s A Good Idea stays home in Sydney.

Stakes winning mare Dublin Lass is due to go around in the Starlight Stakes while That’s A Good Idea is also entered for the Group 3 $200,000 George Moore Stakes (1200m) at Doomben on Saturday.

But the prospect of further rain in Brisbane leading up to the weekend will see That’s A Good Idea stay in Sydney.

The Snowden Racing Team of Peter and Paul had intended to run That’s A Good Idea at Doomben last Saturday week in the Listed $100,000 One Key Resources Keith Noud Handicap (1200m), but the gelding was a late withdrawal after a thunderstorm arrived mid morning and forced the downgrading of the track to a soft 5.

“I had him up there to race a fortnight ago and the track had been good all week,” Peter Snowden told Racing Ahead.

“He’s a good dry tracker and then it rained on the day at 11 o’clock so it was a wasted trip. When I looked at the track it was just too wet for him to run on.

“Again it looks like the weather is going to be fine all week then possible showers Friday and possible showers Saturday, so there’s a good chance he’ll probably stay at home to race.”

“The weather looks a little bit more promising than it does in Brisbane.”

“He’s had a good prep – he’s raced at the highest level and raced very competitively,” he added.

“He’s a horse that really tries in his races early and he is a real confidence horse and he seems to be right up at the moment which is why I’ll do the right thing and not run him on a track he doesn’t like.

“We’ll look for as good a ground as we can and see where his form is now.”

That’s A Good Idea was placed twice at Randwick during the Sydney Spring Carnival with a third to Terravista in the Group 2 $300,000 Premiere Stakes (1200m) on October 3 followed by a second in the Listed $150,000 City Tattersalls Club Lightning (1100m) two weeks later.

While the Flying Spur six year old did miss a run last Saturday week, Snowden has kept him up to the mark with a second placing in an 804m Warwick Farm barrier trial on November 19.

Stablemate Dublin Lass had one run in Melbourne during the Spring Carnival for a second to Pittsburgh Flyer in the Group 3 $200,000 G.H. Mumm Stakes (1100m) at Flemington on November 5 and has freshened up well according to Snowden.

“She (Dublin Lass) will run in the Starlight,” Snowden said.

“Her run in Melbourne was terrific. She came back home and has had a three weeks freshen up. She is in great order and she should run well.”

That’s A Good Idea is set to carry the top weight of 60kg in the Starlight Stakes while Dublin Lass has been weighted on the 54kg minimum.
