The final makeup of the sixteen horse field will be confirmed at scratching time on Saturday and any race morning withdrawals will determine who will ride Dublin Lass, Politeness and Diademe.

Trainers Peter and Paul Snowden, Robert Smerdon and Bjorn Baker have not declared riders for their runners and have been given permission by stewards to wait and use the jockeys that have been declared on the three emergencies if they don’t get a late call up into the final field.

Tommy Berry’s name is listed beside second emergency and favourite Najoom and if the Gai Waterhouse trained filly doesn’t gain a start, Berry will ride Melbourne mare Politeness for Robert Smerdon.

Top Brisbane rider Jim Byrne won’t be without a mount if third emergency Jazz Song isn’t needed and will ride last start Bright Shadow Handicap winner Dublin Lass for the Snowden stable.

And Luke Tarrant, who is currently booked to ride first emergency Tarloshan, will team up with Bjorn Baker on Diademe.

The Tattersall’s Club Tiara is the second Group1 race of the Queensland Winter Racing Carnival that has had the early favourite failing to make the final field of sixteen at acceptance time and was listed as an emergency.

Smerdon’s smart filly Lumosty was listed as the first reserve for the Group 1 $2m AAMI Stradbroke Handicap (1350m) at Doomben on June 6 but gained a start when Lord Of The Sky was scratched.

Lumosty finally started the $6 equal favourite with Charlie Boy but had a luckless run and was beaten just over four lengths when tenth to Srikandi.

Najoom was all set to run in the Stradbroke Handicap after gaining exemption for the ballot for her win in the Group 3 $125,000 Sita Australia Fred Best Classic (1350m) at Doomben on May 23 but failed to respond to treatment for a minor leg injury in time and missed out on running in the Carnival’s premier sprint.

The Northern Meteor filly showed that she was back on track with a slick barrier trial win over 1000m at the Gold Coast on June 9 and after being one of the star workers at Doomben earlier in the week was installed the $3.90 favourite for the Tattersall’s Club Tiara with Ladbrokes.com.au.

Tattersall’s Club Tiara market order at Ladbrokes.com.au: $3.90 Najoom, $4.40 Catkins, $4.60 Srikandi, $7 Avoid Lightning, $7.50 Lumosty, $15 Hazard, $17 Peron, Peggy Jean, $18 Solicit, $19 Dublin Lass, $21 Real Surreal, Politeness, $26 Estonian Princess, $31 Tarloshan, Rose Of Choice, $41 Bound For Earth, $51 Diademe, Jazz Song, $61 Thump.
