So You Think

There were plenty who put the boot into Australian superstar So You Think after his first European loss last start in the Prince Of Wales Stakes but there aren’t too many who are keen to line up and take him on next time out.

Just five horses are entered for the 2011 Eclipse Stakes including So You Think, but that doesn’t mean it will be an easy race in the slightest.

Among his four rivals are two absolute champions in the form of Workforce and Snow Fairy.

While the big Australian is still the favourite to bounce back to form and take out the race, he can’t afford the mistakes of his last start if he is to win his first Group 1 in England.

Workforce is his most highly favoured challenger, the horse has been in devastating form winning both the Group 1 English Derby and Group 1 Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe last season.

Snow Fairy meanwhile also has a Group 1 win to her name in England, that’s along with top flight victories across Ireland, Japan and Hong Kong as well.

There was huge controversy surrounding his last run ranging from Aidan O’Brien saying he didn’t have the horse fit, to highly questionable tactics in running including the use of a pacemaker and heading for home with 800m to go.

There will be a change in jockey but it’s not known whether it was forced or not with Ryan Moore picking up the ride of rival Workforce.

Steven Arnold was well in the running to take over, something many Australians were hoping for but that won’t be the case with Seamus Heffernan getting the gig.

So You Think will not have a pacemaker this time out however Workforce will, Confront filling the role for the Sir Michael Stoute stable.
