Paul Snowden is continuing to talk-up the fitness of early odds-on favourite through Ladbrokes.com.au Capitalist despite the unbeaten juvenile missing a Randwick trial in the lead-up to the $2 million Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1200m) this summer.

In pre-field Magic Millions Classic markets the Written Tycoon colt pays $1.80 to take out the rich restricted feature, and he will be joined in the field by stablemates Niccolance and Mooshakissa.

On October 3 at Randwick Capitalist blitzed his debut with an impressive three length effort over Detective in the Listed Breeders Plate (1000m).

A four length Rosehill trial win followed on December 8 before his second run and second win, this time over the aforementioned fellow Snowden-trained Niccolance in the $200,000 Wyong Magic Millions 2YO Classic (1100m) on December 17.

A slight temperature elevation saw the Snowdens bypass a Sydney trial with Capitalist this week, but Snowden is confident the progressive youngster will be at full fitness for his Magic Millions bid.

“Honestly, I cannot see why not,” he told Racing Ahead.

“We just wanted to be cautious. We want to make a monty of it.”

Second favourite in futures Magic Millions betting is the Tony Gollan-trained filly Zelday’s Night Out, the daughter of Myboycharlie undefeated in her three runs to date.

Two back she won the Listed Calaway Gal Stakes (1050m) at Doomben by over two lengths before her Gold Coast win in Boxing Day’s Group 3 B.J. McLachlan Stakes (1200m).

The Snowden’s Nicconi colt Niccolance then occupies the third line of betting after running second in his two early career assignments, including the Wyong Magic Millions race.

He trialled on December 29 over 836m at Randwick with James McDonald in the saddle crossing just a quarter length off the winner Dissolute in an ideal fitness test ahead of his rematch with Capitalist.

The team’s third hopeful for the feature race on the Gold Coast Magic Millions Day program, Mooshakissa, meanwhile is rated a $26 outsider.

A two-year-old daughter of Duport, the filly has had three starts for a win, a second and a third.

The win came at Warwick Farm over 1100m on December 9 when Blake Shinn guided her to a smart three length victory from the inside alley over Hazlebrook.

She then raced at Rosehill Gardens on December 19 over the same distance only to go down a half-length when runner-up behind Souchez with apprentice Winona Costin in the saddle.
