The daughter of Snitzel won at Gosford on debut in February and returned to the races with a comfortable victory over Let’s Frolic and Dalton in the Share Care Directors Sprint (1000m) at Warwick Farm on July 13.

Saturday’s race represents a significant step up in quality for the three-year-old and trainer Gerald Ryan is keen to see just how good the filly is when she takes on Windjammer, Champagne Cath and Respected this Saturday.

“She has worked really well, she certainly hasn’t gone backwards,” Ryan told Racing Ahead.

“This on paper looks like being a tougher race and you probably do see where you sit.

“We will see whether she can take the next step or whether she is just a Saturday horse.”

Snitzel’s Jewel has drawn the outsider barrier of the ten horse field in the National Jockeys Trust Handicap and Ryan will be giving jockey Brenton Avdulla very clear instructions before he rides the promising filly.

“The barrier is awkward and I don’t want to be rushing forward on her because there is a fair bit of speed in the race,” the leading Sydney trained said.

“I’m hoping that she can get cover off the speed and she will hit the line good.”

Snitzel’s Jewel is currently not favored by punters to extend her winning streak with Champagne Cath the clear favourite form Certitude and Respected while top-weight Windjammer has received a lot of support in the last twenty-four hours.
