In-form jockey Blake Shinn isn’t worried that front running filly Bohemian Lily has drawn one from the outside in the Group 1 $500,000 Treasury Casino & Hotel Queensland Oaks (2200m) at Doomben on Saturday.

Bohemian Lily has drawn barrier twenty in the final field of sixteen plus five emergencies for the Queensland Oaks and will jump from gate fifteen if all the emergencies fail to gain a start.

The Gai Waterhouse trained filly jumped from gate ten in the thirteen horse Group 2 $175,000 URBIS The Roses (2020m) at Doomben last Saturday and none of the remaining fillies could get anywhere near her as she went on to record an all the way four lengths win over Toowoomba filly Col ‘N’ Lil.

Shinn will not doubt adopt similar tactics on Bohemian Lily this week and he will have an extra two hundred metres to play with before hitting the turn out of the straight the first time.

“Not perturbed by Bohemian Lilly’s barrier 20 in the Oaks. She’s got tactical speed, amazing stamina & the ability to just keep running!,” Shinn tweeted.

Shinn has ridden Bohemian Lily three times for two wins and a second and says that the O’Reilly filly just keeps getting better with each run.

“Every time she runs she makes great improvements and a little bit further in distance will be just to her liking,” Shinn said.

“All along she has been set for the Oaks. I couldn’t be happier with her.’’

Shinn first teamed up with the Waterhouse filly at the Gold Coast with a quarter of a length win over Queensland Oaks rival Col ‘N’ Lil in the Listed $125,000 Border Security Services Gold Coast Bracelet (1800m) on April 25 after racing on the pace.

Shinn then sat off the pace again but was run down by the Chris Waller trained Ballet Suite when second in the Listed $100,000 City Property Services Princess Stakes (2000m) at Doomben on May 9.

Then Bohemian Lily was absolutely sensational with her demolition of The Roses field last week and is currently on the second line of betting for the Queensland Oaks at $5.50. have the Waller trained Winx at the top of the market order at $2.70 with her stablemate Ballet Suite marked as a $10 chance.

Also well up in the betting is the Bjorn Baker trained Sebrina ($8.50) who comes to Brisbane following her unlucky fourth to High Midnight in the 2000m BenchMark 73 Handicap at Randwick last Saturday.

Oaks favourite Winx was sent out the top pick when second to Gust Of Wind in the Group 1 $1m Seven News Australian Oaks (2400m) at Randwick on April 11 and cemented her spot at the head of the Queensland Oaks market order after producing a last to first win in the Group 3 $125,000 XXXX Sunshine Coast Guineas (1600m) at the Sunshine Coast on May 16.

Queensland Oaks market order at $2.70 Winx, $5.50 Bohemian Lily, $8.50 Sebrina, $10 Ballet Suite, Ungrateful Ellen, $17 Platinum Witness, $21 Col ‘N’ Lil, Exquisite Jewel, Zarzali, $26 Rustic Melody, $31 Whatalovelyday, Swift Lady, $41 Yulong Baby, Champion Stage, $51 Anaphora, Imperial Lass, Shandaara, No Tricks, $61 Heavens Above, $151 Mine With Lime, $201 Stewball.
