New Zealand horses have been a dominate feature already during the Brisbane Winter Carnival and in no area are they more strong than in the Oaks ranks.

Scarlett Lady blew away the best Australia could throw at her last start in The Roses and the kiwi ranks were bolstered even further yesterday with the arrival of Shez Sinsational.

Allan Sharrock believes his filly has the ability to not only take care of the local competition but also to put pressure on the other flying import when they meet in the Queensland Oaks at Eagle Farm.

“She arrived on Wednesday, travelling super, we’re very happy with her condition,” he said.

Sharrock chose to forgo the Oaks in New Zealand believing that Queensland offered him his best possible chance of claiming a Group 1 victory.

“I had a look at the New Zealand Oaks but it came up a little bit quick,” he said.

Despite the imposing unbeaten streak she’s taking into the race he’s not running scared of Scarlett Lady.

“The two of them won at Te Rapa, they ran the same time that day,” he said.

He’s also confident that however the race pans out Shez Sinsational will be versatile enough to handle it from just about anywhere in the pack.

“She can race anywhere but she will be settled for the mile and a half,” he said.

She won’t have any lead up races to get accustomed to the Australian conditions with Sharrock sticking with a fresh is best approach to running across the ditch,

“I’ve just taken the punt that my first run will be my best run, I want to go straight into it,” he said.

While a lot has been made about the record of Scarlett Lady, Shez Sinsational has notched up pretty impressive numbers herself.

“She’s won four of her eight and was probably desperately unlucky in another two,” he said.

The $400,000 Queensland Oaks are scheduled for Eagle Farm Racecourse on June 4th over 2400m.
