Gosford trainer Angela Davies scored the greatest win of her career when She’s A Stalker caused one of the biggest boilovers in recent times winning the $100,000 Magic Millions Wyong 3yo Stakes (1200m) at Wyong today.

Davies three year old filly She’s A Stalker with top jockey Cory Brown was able to bowl over Gai Waterhouse’s odds on favourite Driefontein who was given every chance by Tommy Berry to down the $7 chance.

The 2012 two year old Magic Millions winner was sent out the $1.10 favourite and after getting the run of the race third on the fence, was expected to race away in the straight, but that never eventuated.

After sitting outside the leader Cheers Rihanna, Brown let She’s A Stalker stride to the front on the home turn and the Ferocity filly has plenty in reserve to hold off the favourite by a length.

Brown has been a regular rider for the Davies stable from his apprentice days and was very happy to ride a feature race winner for her.

“I’ve ridden for Ange since I was fifteen when I first stepped down to Gosford as an apprentice. She was like a second mum to me really,” Brown said.

“It’s just great to ride a winner for Ange and for her to get a good horse is even better.”

Brown has been the regular rider for She’s A Stalker and was aboard in winning at Canterbury in June as well as her first up second on December 7 at Canterbury again and believes the filly can improve further to be competitive in the $1m Magic Millions 3yo Guineas Plate (1400m) at the Gold Coast on January 12.

“She’s got a bit of improvement to come too, you know,” Brown said.

“She was always going to improve on her first up run and again on her second up run today and she’s going to be very hard to hold out.”

Davies was quietly confident going into today’s race even though she was coming up against the might of the powerful Waterhouse stable.

“I could not have been happier with my horse. I thought she looked a million dollars, she done everything right.  I didn’t know if we were good enough, but we found out.” Davies said.

Davies will now head to the Gold Coast with confidence while Waterhouse will have to use her magic to lift Driefontein back off the floor to be competitive on Magic Millions day.
