Samaready has not been seen at the races since she finished fourth behind Elite Elle in the Listed Quezette Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield over twelve months ago, with a muscle tear in her near hind leg ruling her out of the 2013 Autumn Racing Carnival.

The daughter of More Than Ready returned to trackwork in July and trainer Mick Price believes she is now ready for her racing comeback, after a performing fairly in an unofficial trial last week, but isn’t expecting anything special first-up in The Heath 1100 Stakes this weekend.

“I’m getting to the point where I have to run her anyway,” Price told AAP.

“She’s probably vulnerable first-up after such a long time.

“I don’t need to grind her, one trial and a 650 metre trial, that’s all.”

Samaready was one of the star performers in a stellar crop of juveniles during the 2011/2012 racing season that included Pierro, All Too Hard and Snitzerland.

She started her racing career with an impressive win in the Spotless Plate (1000m) at Flemington before stamping herself as a leading contender for the major two-year-old races with a three and a half lengths victory in the Group 3 Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m).

The classy mare recorded her maiden Group 1 victory in the Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) and maintained her undefeated record with another classy performance in the Group 2 Reisling Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens but was beaten by Pierro in the Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200m).

Samaready will carry 57kg in The Heath 1100 Stakes this weekend, with veteran gelding Neeson the top-weight with 58kg.
