The Chris Waller trained Red Tracer took her first up record above fifty per cent when she finished too strongly for Satin Shoes and Emotional Circus.

Waller will now head to Melbourne with Red Tracer with the Group 1 $500,000 Myer Classic (1600m) at Flemington on November 3 her major Spring target.

“She’s great fresh. She was ready to go last week and we just side tracked More Joyous. Geoff and Mary are good patient owners, understood the reasons why and fortunately it’s paid off today,” Waller said.

“She was the last thing on my mind today. We had a few runners in the Group 1 races and it’s been a long day at the office, that’s what makes racing so special, everyone gets a turn. Obviously the bigger stables get more turns but once those gates open you don’t know what’s happening.”

“It’s been a long day for us but we’re very appreciative of getting this winner in the last.”

“She’s on her way to the Myer, so that will be third up. Her next race will probably be at Caulfield in two weeks time.”

Waller and Nash Rawiller had to wait until the last to enter the winner’s stall with Red Tracer.

“She’s a very gifted horse. I rode her very earlier in her career, she always had a tremendous turn of foot,” Rawiller said.

“Today being a little bit fresh she travelled like the winner the whole race. Great to win it for Geoff and Mary, very deserving of this win. She’s a good mare.”

The short priced favourite Rain Affair ($2.80) has been struggling to find form this preparation and once again faded in the straight to finish eighth and will now be sent to the paddock.
