Sacred Elixir – Sacred Elixir is the horse to beat in the 2016 Victoria Derby. He has always looked as though he would relish the step-up in trip to 2500 metres and he found the line nicely in the Moonee Valley Vase.

Prized Icon – Prized Icon has racing consistently without winning this preparation. He did not have a great deal of luck last start and it would not surprise to see him produce an improved effort at big odds.

Swear – Swear has been one of the best-backed runners in the 2016 Victoria Derby betting market with Ladbrokes. He was only narrowly denied by Yankee Rose in the Spring Champion Stakes and she finished third in a Cox Plate last weekend.

Rocketeer – Rocketeer gives the impression that he will absolutely relish the step-up in trip to 2500 metres. He stormed home late in both the UCI Stakes and the Ladbrokes Classic and he is another that can be in the finish at big odds.

Morvada – Morvada is the likely leader in the Victoria Derby. He will make his own luck right on the speed and his form is good enough to suggest that he will not be disgraced.

Inference – Inference is a horse that still has plenty of maturing to do, but he still managed to run well in both the Stutt Stakes and the Ladbrokes Classic. He will need to do everything right to be any chance in the Victoria Derby.

Captain Duffy – Captain Duffy toughed it out bravely to take out the Geelong Classic and he is another horse that will have no issue running out the trip strongly. He could turn this into a genuine staying test.

Silvera – Silvera did not fire in the Moonee Valley Vase, but it is fair to say that the race was not run to suit. He will need to improve on that effort in a big way to have any chance of being competitive.

Wine Bush – Wine Bush won the UCI Stakes, but there are big question marks over the form coming out of that race. You can never rule out Chris Waller, but it would surprise to see him win again.

So Si Bon – So Si Bon has the perfect profile for the Victoria Derby and Robbie Laing knows what it takes to train the winner. He finished third in the Moonee Valley Vase and he did not have a great deal of luck in running.

Kent – Kent failed to fire in the UCI Stakes and the Ladbrokes Classic. He has never really given the indication that he is capable of winning a race of this quality.

Highlad – Highlad was easily the run of the race in the UCI Stakes and he did not have a great deal of luck in the Ladbrokes Classic. He is a better horse than those runs indicate and he can run at big race at juicy odds.

Beach Life – Beach Life comes through a similar form line as Highlad following credible efforts in the UCI Stakes and Norman Robinson Stakes. He is heading in the right direction, but there are other horses that are better value at their current price.

Tumultuous – Tumultuous is the second Chris Waller-trained horse in this field. He would need to improve on his performances in the Gloaming Stakes, Spring Champion Stakes and Geelong Classic to be any chance in the Victoria Derby.

Hollywood Mo – Hollywood Mo is yet to record a maiden race win, but he did finish a credible second in the Geelong Classic. It would not surprise if he ran better than his odds suggest.

All Out Of Love – All Out Of Love is the outsider in Victoria Derby betting markets for a reason.
