The Gai Waterhouse trained filly Bohemian Lily produced an excellent Queensland Oaks trial with a runaway four lengths win in the Group 2 $175,000 URBIS ies(2020m) at Doomben today.

There appeared to be only one horse in the race with Bohemian Lily trouncing the other twelve filly to win by an increasing margins over Toowoomba filly Col ‘N’ Lil ($15) and the locally trained Jon Walk filly Whatalovelyday ($26).

Any of the fillies that finished behind Bohemian Lily ($3.50) today look to haave no chance of turning the tables in the Group 1 $500,000 Treasury Casino & Hotel Queensland Oaks (2200m) at Doomben next week.

The only two fillies that will make a race of it next week with Bohemian Lily are the Chris Waller trained pair Winx and Ballet Suite, both of whom were home in their box today.

Winx is sitting at the top of the market order for the Queensland Oaks following her sensational last to first win in the Group 3 $125,000 XXXX Sunshine Coast Guineas (1600m) at the Sunshine Coast last week.

Waller scratched Ballet Suite from today’s The Roses to keep her for next Saturday but the High Chaparral filly was a winner over Bohemian Lily in the Listed $100,000 City Property Services Princess Stakes (2000m) at Doomben on May 9.

Blake Shinn has ridden Bohemian Lily at all her three Queensland starts and today was his second win on her after the pair combined to win the Listed $125,000 Border Security Services Gold Coast Bracelet (1800m) at the Gold Coast on April 25.

The well fancied Kiwi filly Platinum Witness was sent out the $2.80 favourite but after being well back in the field from the outset, was never a threat to be beaten over seven lengths into sixth spot.
