Pinnacles has been retired and will live a long life despite breaking down in the Emirates Stakes

Trainer Rick Hore-Lacy confirmed that Pinnacles will be saved despite breaking down in the Emirates Stakes won by Albert The Faton Saturday.

Many on twitter had the eight-year-old done and dusted when he literally stopped to a walk in the final stages of the $1m Group 1.

Hore-Lacy said today that the horse who won 11 races in 61 starts and $1m in prizemoney will “live a long life.”

“We x-rayed the problems and he will always walk with a limp but he will live to a ripe old age,” Hore-Lacy said.

“He chipped a bit off the back of his sesamoid and the ligament is massively pulled apart from his sesamoid.”

Pinnacles’ best win was the Listed 2008 Glasshouse Handicap at the Sunshine Coast.

Hore-Lacy also reported that Toorak Toff is now in the spelling paddock and will be set for a first up tilt at the 2012 Newmarket Handicap (1200m) at Flemington in March.
