The three-year-old will kick off his autumn campaign in the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill on Saturday week and the solo exhibition gallop will be his final piece of serious lead-up work.

Taking the son of Lonhro to Warwick Farm for the hit-out allows Gai Waterhouse and her team to take advantage of a quality galloping surface and to simulate race day conditions.

Waterhouse’s racing manager Bruce Slade said the workout will top him off for the first-up test in the Hobartville Stakes.

He will gallop after the first race which is due to jump at 12:27pm (AEDT).

Pierro has had two solid trials in order to prepare for his autumn campaign.

If he can even come close to repeating his two-year-old success he will again be an autumn star, having taken out the two-year-old triple crown including the Golden Slipper, Sires’ Produce Stakes and Champagne Stakes.

While the valuable stallion prospect couldn’t quite replicate that form in the spring, he still showed why he is one of the country’s best gallopers to win his first two starts before finishing second in the Caulfield Guineas and third in the Cox Plate.

His phenomenal record stands at eight wins from 10 starts for a prize pool of more than $3.5 million.
