Petits Filous made her racing debut in the Telstra Phoneworlds Handicap (1000m) at Moonee Valley on July 15 and she impressed onlookers by recording a most impressive six lengths victory before she proved that win was no fluke with another comfortable win as an odds-on favourite in the United Refrigeration Handicap (1000m) at Moonee Valley on August 1.

Trainer Ciaron Maher has a big opinion of Petits Filous and the Street Boss filly was included in the nominations for both the Group 1 Thousand Guineas (1600m) and the Group 1 Cox Plate (2040m) that were released last week.

Petits Filous is not the only unbeaten filly that has been included in the Quezette Stakes nominations and Robbie Griffiths-trained Don’t Doubt Marley and South Australian-based Miss Gunpowder could both defend their perfect records this weekend.

Don’t Doubt Marley will make her metropolitan debut after taking out the Jim’s Mowing Maiden Plate (1000m) at Geelong on June 2 and the Eastcoast Plumbing Group Handicap (1200m) at Sale on June 24, while Miss Gunpowder will make the trip to Melbourne for the first time after winning the Darley Handicap (1050m) at Morphettville on March 14 and the Irish Race Day Handicap (1100m) at the same venue on July 25.

Another filly that is set to take winning form into the Quezette Stakes is Colin Little-trained Jalan Jalan, who has recorded two wins from three starts since making her debut in May.

Jalan Jalan made her racing debut with a surprise win in The Wow Signal Handicap (1000m) at Mornington on May 20 and she had no luck when third behind the talented Green Card in the Ted Rainford Plate (1100m) at Caulfield on July 4 before she returned to winning form with a smart win in The Flemington Family Handicap (1200m) at Flemington on July 18.

One of the most interesting fillies in the Quezette Stakes nominations is Robert Smerdon-trained Thurlow, who had five race starts as a two-year-old.

Thurlow made her racing debut with a second place finish in the Group 3 Emirates Airline Plate (1000m) at Flemington on Melbourne Cup Day and she was sent to the spelling paddock following her win in the Listed Merson Cooper Stakes (1000m) at Sandown on November 15.

The daughter of Sebring started her autumn campaign with a win in the Group 3 Chairman’s Stakes (1000m) at Sandown on February 7, but she had no luck whatsoever in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on February 28 before she finished second in the Listed Queen Adelaide Stakes (1050m) at Morphettville on May 2.

Air Apparent, Giulietta, Stream Ahead, Strykum and Take Pride have also been included in the 2015 Quezette Stakes nominations.
