Trainer Peter Moody will face a steward's inquiry after one of his horses tested positive to a prohibited substance

Top trainer Peter Moody will have to attend a steward’s inquiry after one of his horses provided a tested positive to a prohibited substance after winning a race in May.

Lethal Arrow provided a urine test after winning the Schweppes 0-68 Handicap (1300m) at Pakenham Racecourse on May 17.

The test came back positive for the banned substance Oripavine.

Oripavine can stimulate the performance of some horses and is a narcotic analgesic substance.

The date for the impending inquiry is still yet to be decided.

The possibility of a training suspension would be of concern to Moody, who is currently preparing for a dominant spring carnival headed by his superstar mare Black Caviar.

Moody is also hoping to take Black Caviar, who has just come back into pre-training after a spell, to Hong Kong for an overseas campaign in December.
