Peter Moody hosted a press conference in Brisbane earlier today and the turnout stunned most in attendance.

With 2011 BTC Cup Day at Doomben expected to attract a near capacity 20,000 people the interest was always going to be big but Queensland Racing has never seen anything like this.

Channel Nine journalist Ben Dobson has been covering racing in some capacity for over 20 years but what he saw this morning shocked even him.

“I’ve never seen more than five or six people at a Brisbane media conference,” he said.

“I reckon there would have been 45 or 50 people there, we all have Caviar fever.”

In terms of the conference itself Moody was asked a range of expected questions from the more senior racing journalists but also a few curveballs from not so experienced race goers.

That just further highlights how Black Caviar has crossed the divide and become a mainstream conversation topic on television, radio and newspapers right around Brisbane.

It was all systems go from Moody himself who is happy to play along with much of the theatre but he is still very much focussed.

“Her gallop on Saturday was excellent and she backed it up on Tuesday, I couldn’t be happier,” He said.

“I’m very very confident, her coat has turned and she looks her best.”

He’s no concerned about any of his rivals saying he’s content to sit behind any of the leaders.

The race speed is starting to come together with the likely leaders being revealed today.

Buffering is going to lead at all costs on Saturday, Peter Moody is quite happy to pick up a trail and park behind either Hay List or Buffering,” Dobson said.
