Arinosa has come back with a bang, winning her first spring racing start in the Group 2 Premiere Stakes at Royal Randwick Racecourse.

The six-year-old flew down the outside to claim the win from stablemate Dystopia in the final seconds of the race.

Famous Seamus crossed the line in third position, while the gutsy Pinwheelrounded out the first four.

Hay List was once again far from his best and finished near the tail of the field after leading the field going into the final turn.

Arinosa has now won nine of her 28 race starts and has earned more than $588,000 in prize money during her career.

Trainer Chris Waller was thrilled to claim the quinella in the 2013 Premiere Stakes.

“She came out at the right time,” Waller said of Arinosa.

“I thought Dystopia was home for all money.

“Dystpoia got there with the winning burst but just got run down.”

Waller has had to give Arinosa time to heal after having feet issues earlier in the year, which led to an abandoned Brisbane Winter Carnival.

“We’ve just nursed her back and new foot so to speak and she’s here today,” he said.

Waller will now look to aim Arinosa towards the Group 1 Manikato Stakes on October 26 at Moonee Valley.

“I was thinking about the Manikato. Obviously that’s (a) high (goal),” the trainer said.

“She’s a multiple Group 2 winner now and the next step is a Group 1.”

Brenton Avdulla was the jockey aboard Arinosa for her Premiere Stakes win.

“She surprises me every time,” Avdulla said.

“I still remember the days we were getting beaten at Newcastle and Hawkesbury.

“She’s been my little superstar for the last year and a half.

“Chris has done a marvelous job with her.”

The jockey is confident Arinosa has what it takes to win the Manikato Stakes.

“If she could win a Group 1 it would be unreal,” he said.

“I’m sure she’lll get round the Valley.

“We’re going to go down trying.”
