Trainer Peter Moody is confident that jockey Brad Rawiller can bring the best out in Manighar in tomorrow’s Group 2 Eagle Farm Cup.

Rawiller was aboard Manighar in the Group 1 Doomben Cup last start, where they finished a respectable fourth behind Beaten Up.

Now Moody is hopeful that Manighar can regain his winning form against the six-horse Eagle Farm Cup field.

The trainer was happy with Rawiller’s most recent ride and believes that he will have learnt a great deal about the horse in just that one race.

“Brad did exactly what I asked of him in the race,” Moody said.

“In the context of how it was run, if he had his time over again he probably waits a hundred yards.

“With that experience on him I think both horse and rider will take terrific benefit from it.”

Manighar has won 10 of his 36 race starts and has earned more than $3.4 million in prize money during his horse racing career.

The rising eight-year-old will be searching for his first win since claiming victory in the Group 1 The BMW in April 2012.

Moody also has Lights Of Heaven and Voila Ici in this weekend’s Eagle Farm Cup.

Lights Of Heaven won this event last year and will be out to defend both this title and next week’s Group 2 Brisbane Cup.

“She’s held her condition well and loves Eagle Farm,” Moody said.

“She’s racing like she wants this trip and she’s done very well hence the reason I’m running her before the Brisbane Cup.”

Moody also feels the conditions will be ideally suited to Voila Ici thanks to the recent rain.

“He’s got soft conditions and it’s an ideal trip for him,” he said.

“He looks the leader on paper and he should get a soft run in front.”

Lights Of Heaven currently has the slight edge in the betting odds and is the $2.80 favourite for tomorrow’s Eagle Farm Cup.
