The Gai Waterhouse trained Carriages bounced to the top of the market order for the Magic Millions 2yo Classic after an all the way win in the $200,000 Magic Millions Clockwise Classic (1000m) at Ballarat on November 22.

But an injury interrupted campaign since has seen the Hinchinbrook filly slip down the order to be on the third line of betting at $9 with Ladbrokes.com.au behind smart colt Wicked Intent at $3.60 and the Liam Birchley trained filly Pepperano at $8.

Carriages was due to run at Doomben last Saturday in the Listed $100,000 Yatala Pies Calaway Gal Stakes (1050m) for the fillies but Waterhouse was forced to abandoned those plans after the filly struck herself in the sand roll after trackwork early in the week.

A good performance at the trials on Tuesday will see Carriages back in favour for the glamour Gold Coast two year old feature with part owner David Henderson keen to return for the Magic Millions Carnival.

Henderson was also impressed with Carriages win at Ballarat which qualified her for the Magc Milllions 2yo Classic at the Gold Coast.

“But she will be well and truly qualified now, we’re from the Gold Coast and we love it up there and we’ve had a lot of success with Magic Millions on those days,” Henderson told Racing.com.

Magic Millions favourite Wicked Intent with Chris Munce in the saddle cemented his place at the top of the market with a dominant win in the Listed $100,000 Morgans Seafood  Phelan Ready Stakes (1050m) at Doomben last Saturday.

Eagle Farm trainer Barry Mitchell will give the Wicked Style colt his final lead up to his Magic Millions grand final in the Group 3 $150,000 B.J. McLachlan Stakes (1200m) at the Gold Coast on December 27.
