Blake Shinn gave the punters no cause for concern at any stage of the race after taking Mackintosh to the front in the turn out of the straight the first time and dictated the tempo from then.

Mackintosh was heavily supported in the betting ring and was always the one the punters wanted to start the $2.10 favourite and rewarded them with a clear cut win.

Mackintosh will now firm in the betting for the Group 1 $600,000 Channel Seven Queensland Derby (2400m) at Eagle Farm on June 11.

The Desleigh Forster trained Cylinder Beach ($4.40) settled midfield for replacement jockey Jimmy Orman and was doing is best work at the finish to fill second spot with Brazen ($16) holding on for third after circling the field coming to the home turn.

Cylinder Beach is also heading towards to the Queensland Derby and the way he went to the line indicated that the 2400m of the Derby won’t be a problem.

Mackintosh began his racing career in New Zealand and at his first run for the Waller stable was able to win a BenchMark 77 Handicap at Hawkesbury on April 30.
