Lord Of The Sky has not been seen at the races since he finished fourth behind Our Nkwazi in the United Refrigeration Handicap (1000m) at Moonee Valley on August 2, but he is set to return to racing in the Listed event.

The Danerich entire stamped himself as a horse to watch when he recorded two impressive wins at Caulfield in near track record time and was set for the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate (1100m), but he was sent to the spelling paddock after finishing at the tail of the field in the Listed W.J. Adams Stakes (1000m) at Caulfield on February 1.

Lord Of The Sky started his winter campaign with a close second behind Danger Close in the Auckland Racing Club Handicap (1000m) at Flemington on April 25 before he returned to winning form in the Listen Learn Speak Handicap (1000m) at Caulfield on May 17 and cantered home to record his maiden win at Group level in the Group 3 Sir John Monash Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield on July 5.

He started the Group 3 Bletchingly Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on July 26 as a clear favourite, but could finish no better than fourth behind Thiamandi before he was sent to the spelling paddock following his defeat in the United Refrigeration Handicap.

Another talented galloper that is set to return to racing in the Doveton Stakes is Darren Weir-trained Anlon.

Anlon recorded his maiden black type racing win when he took out the Listed Chester Manifold Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on January 11, but was unable to replicate that form during his winter preparation and he was sent to the spelling paddock after he finished tenth behind Akavoroun in a heat of the Winter Championship (1410m) at Flemington on June 28.

Byron Cozamanis won the 2013 edition of the Doveton Stakes with Vatican and he has included Tansy in the nominations for this year’s race.

Tansy will be making his debut at Listed level if he is included in the acceptances for the race and he will be facing the toughest test of his racing career to date after winning at the Racing.Com Handicap (1100m) and finishing fifth in the Jayco Handicap (1100m) at Bendigo in his past two starts.

The Doveton Stakes nominations are rounded out by Bullpit, Carvalho, Crooner, Danger Close, Eight Bills, Go The Knuckle, It Is Written, Mr Make Believe, Pocket Rockets and The Monstar.
