Look To The Stars has been removed from the 2015 Golden Slipper field due to a hoof issue and first emergency Serenade will now earn a start in the Group 1 event at Rosehill Gardens tomorrow afternoon.

Look To The Stars was considered the extreme outsider in 2015 Golden Slipper betting markets after she finished fifth behind Speak Fondly in the Group 2 Magic Night Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens on March 14, but trainer Clarry Conners remained hopeful that the I Am Invincible filly could finish in the prizemoney and earn a cheque for connections.

However, Look To The Stars was found with a foot abscess in the last 24 hours and Conners informed Racing New South Wales that he would scratch the two-year-old at vets advice.

The withdrawal of Looks To The Stars means that Michael Moroney-trained Serenade will get a start in the world’s richest two-year-old event after she narrowly missed out on a place in the final field that was released on Tuesday.

Serenade made her racing debut with a disappointing performance behind New Wings and Fireworks in The Entertainment Grounds Maiden (1000m) at Gosford on December 29, but she bounced back to record a maiden race win in the Happy Australia Day Handicap at Canterbury on January 26.

The Star Witness filly finished a credible third behind Lady Jivago in the Inglis Classic at Rosehill Gardens on February 7 and after a brief freshen-up she returned to racing with a close fourth behind Speak Fondly in the Magic Night Stakes at Rosehill Gardens last weekend.

The scratching of Serenade has not led to any major changes in the 2015 Golden Slipper betting market and Serenade is still available at a quote of $101 to record the biggest upset in Golden Slipper history.

Gary Portelli-trained Racy is now one step closer to a start in the Golden Slipper, but she remains at a lengthy quote of $151 with Ladbrokes, while $301 is available for Gerald Ryan-trained Heavenly Hand after she failed to fire in both the Group 2 Sweet Embrace Stakes (1200m) and the Magic Night Stakes.

Vancouver remains on top of Golden Slipper betting at a quote of $3, while there has been a sprinkling of support for Ottoman ($41 into $31), Lake Geneva ($19 into $18) and Speak Fondly ($34 into $31).
