Meech became the first female jockey to ride five winners at a Victorian race meeting with her supporters collecting $1836.80 after she rode al four legs of the quadrella plus a winner earlier in the day.

The likeable jockey had six rides on the eight event program and after finishing second in the first race of the day started the winfest when she saluted on Magnesia for trainer Anthony Cummings in the next.

Meech sat out races three and four before she started her run home winning the first leg of the quadrella on Sahara Night for Brian Cox followed by Bernie Of Babylon for the powerful Peter Moody, one of her strongest supporters.

She followed that up with a win on Auramour for Libby Haworth and then wrapped up her most successful day in the saddle after picking up the ride on first emergency Just Reminiscing for Andrew Payne.

“I was actually laughing at the 600 (metres) and thinking `imagine if I rode five,” Meech told TVN after winning the final race on Just Reminisicing.

“I don’t want to go home.It’s great, I’m rapt.”

Meech was the regular rider for Moody’s Group 1 winner Moment Of Change in the early part of his career and was also aboard the smart sprinter when he ran second to his famous stable mate Black Caviar in the Group 1 $500,000 Black Caviar Lightning (1000m) at Flemington during this year’s Autumn Carnival.

Meech won’t be riding at Sale today but will back in action at Terang on Thursday with six rides.

Top jockey! She is too underrated. Should be riding in town more often given more opportunity.
