Let’s Make Adeal started her autumn campaign with an eighth place finish in the Group 2 Peter Young Stakes (1800m) at Caulfield on February 22 and finished within four lengths of Fiorente in the Group 1 Australian Cup (2000m) at Flemington on March 8 before working home strongly against the pattern of the day in the Group 3 Sky High Stakes (1900m) at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday.

Trainer Nigel Blackiston has been happy with the progression that Let’s Make Adeal has made during her preparation and told Racing Ahead that he believes that she is right on track for the Group 1 Sydney Cup (3200m) at Royal Randwick on April 19.

“Very few horses were making ground late, so I was really pleased with the way that she finished the race off,” Blackiston said of Let’s Make Adeal’s run in the Sky High Stakes.

“I was a little bit concerned at the 800 metres, but once she straightened and tacked on the back of them she found the line lovely.

“She is looking towards the 2400 now and the step up in distance is going to suit her.

“Weight-for-age is going to be tough again, but the main goal is the Sydney Cup and I think that she is on target and heading in the right direction.

“Our big plan was always the Sydney Cup and the lead-up race was always going to be The BMW.

“So far, touch wood, everything has gone to plan.”

Let’s Make Adeal worked strongly alongside The BMW Stakes rival Silent Achiever at Royal Randwick this morning and Blackiston was impressed with the effort of both mares and believes the daughter of Red Ransom is heading into the Group 1 event in excellent condition.

“I am very happy with her,” Blackiston said.

“She has settled into the Sydney lifestyle very well and she galloped over 2000 metres this morning with Silent Achiever.

“It was a nice working gallop for the pair of them and she pulled really well.”

Blackiston is chasing his second win in The BMW Stakes after taking out the 2010 edition event with Littorio, who upset Theseo at the lucrative odds of $16.
