The Ciaron Maher trained filly made it four wins on the trot following two wins in Victoria before winning the Listed $150,000 Turangga Farm  Silk Stocking (1200m) at the Gold Coast on May 3.

Winning jockey Glen Boss made it two wins from two starts today after riding Srikandi at the Gold Coast and gave the Dubawi filly a trouble free run just off the leader Lightfoot Lady.

Srikandi ($3 favourite) stretched out in the straight to score by  two and a quarter lengths when being eased down by Boss with second favourite Miniature ($4.20) hitting the line well ahead of Pickabee ($31).

Maher is now thinking of running Srikandi in the Group 1 $1.36m AAMI Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) at Eagle Farm on June 7 going on the way she keeps improving with every run.

“I thought if she could do similar what she did at the Gold Coast to this field on top of the ground you have to think about it (a Stradbroke Handicap start) with the way the weights are, three year old fillies get in well in the weights,” Maher said.

“She just seems to be improving each time.”

“Bossy was very confident, she must have given him a really good feel. She just keeps improving.”

If Maher decides to head to the Stradbroke Handicap Boss has no concerns that Srikandi will handle the 1400m but said taking on the better class gallopers the biggest problem.

“She is a very strong filly and really run through the line there. She had few lengths left there,” Boss said.

“You have to out into perspective she is winning fillies races and you have to go into the Stradbroke against the boys, you are talking lengths.”

“She is strong and very aggressive and she won untouched again today. She has a good couple of sectionals in her.”
