Premiership winning trainer Chris Waller said to dismiss the ten year old’s age and is expecting I’m Imposing to be very competitive dropping back in class.

“He is the class horse in the race and don’t worry about his age. He will run well,” Waller said.

I’m Imposing has had a freshen up since running third to Complacent in the Group 3 $125,000 Craven Plate (2000m) at Randwick on October 3 and Waller was happy with his latest barrier trial Rosehill on Tuesday

“Great old horse. He had a trial on Tuesday, don’t worry about where he finished, I was happy with it,” Waller said.

“He has come back well, he is a great old horse and he has been running in Group 1 races in the last six months.”

Jockey Tye Angland has been the regular partner for I’m Imposing over the last year and a half and he will be able to give the evergreen galloper every chance from barrier eight.

I’m Imposing has been tested in Group 1 company on several occasions and was amongst the prizemoney when third behind the Gai Waterhouse trained Pornichet and stablemate Weary in the Group 1 $650,000 The Bundaberg Rum Doomben Cup (2000m) at Doomben during the Brisbane Winter Carnival.

I’m Imposing is the winner of seven of his forty-four race starts which includes a win over the same course and distance as the Festival Stakes.

Waller will also saddle up Heart Testa in the Festival Stakes and expects a better showing back on top of the ground.

Heart Testa raced in his customary position on the pace on a wet Rosehill track but faded in the straight when fourth to Zanbagh in the $85,000 November Handicap over 1350m.

“Going good. Didn’t handle the wet track last start. He will be in the first three (in the run),” Waller said.

Both of Waller’s Festival Stakes runners are virtually unwanted in the betting with I’m Imposing and Heart Testa both marked at $21 with Ladbrokes.com.au.

The Gai Waterhouse trained Frespanol heads the market order at $4.60 just ahead of John O’Shea’s It’s Somewhat at $5 and the Team Hawkes trained Ninth Legion at $7.

Festival Stakes market order at Ladbrokes.com.au: $4.60 Frespanol, $5 It’s Somewhat, $7 Ninth Legion, $9 Tinto, $11 Nevagotavote, Peace Force, $12 Red Excitement, Centre Pivot, $15 Zanbagh, $19 Mighty Lucky, $21 Heart Testa, I’m Imposing, $34 Pheidon, $101 Keepit To Yourself.
