Frespanol has been installed the $4.60 favourite with Ladbrokes.com.au ahead of the English import It’s Somewhat at $5.50 and the Team Hawkes trained Ninth Legion at $8.50.

Frespanol was a winner two starts back in a 1600m Open Handicap at Randwick on October 24 then ran second as favourite to Zanbagh over 1350m in the $85,000 November Handicap two weeks later.

The John Thompson trained Zanbagh is also going around in the Festival Stakes and has been marked at the lucrative odds of $15 to score back to back wins at Rosehill.

Queensland mare Tinto is also in the market at $9 and will appreciate the step up to 1500m after running seventh first up in the Listed $100,000 One Key Resources Keith Noud Handicap (1200m) at Doomben a fortnight ago.

Newcastle trained Nevagotavote has been racing in fine form in restricted grade with two wins from his last three starts, his latest a win in a 1550m BenchMark 93 Handicap at Canterbury and has been listed as a $10 chance stepping up into Listed company.

Rosehill trainer Gerald Ryan will saddle up two chances in the Festival Stakes with Peace Force marked at $11 just ahead of her stablemate Red Excitement at $12.

Red Excitement is probably a better horse but at the weights and the way the race is going to be run I have a leaning to Peace Force,” Ryan told Racing Ahead.

“She has drawn a bit awkward, but she overcomes barriers, puts herself on top of the speed. There looks to be good speed in the race.”

“She will get a good run actually, she might end up one one, having a quick look at the speed map and I am really upbeat about her on Saturday, she is going really well.”

“Just the way the race is going to be run and the runs they are going to get through the race, I do have a leaning for her cause she will be up on the speed making her own luck while the other horse, looking at this race, will be back and trying to stay out of traffic.”

Festival Stakes market order at Ladbrokes.com.au: $4.60 Frespanol, $5.50 It’s Somewhat, $8.50 Ninth Legion, $9 Tinto, $10 Nevagotavote, $11 Peace Force, $12 Red Excitement, $13 Centre Pivot, $15 Zanbagh, $17 Mighty Lucky, $19 Heart Testa, $21 I’m Imposing, $26 Slate On Edge, $34 Pheidon, $101 Keepit To Yourself.
