Final scratchings for Golden Slipper Day to be run on a heavy 8 at Rosehill today totals eleven with the Group 1 $3.5m Tooheys New Golden Slipper (1200m) to have a capacity field of sixteen to run.

The first emergency for the Golden Slipper, Scratch Me Lucky will take his place in the first race of the day, the Group 3 $150,000 The Schweppervescence (1400m).

The field for the Group 1 $1.5m The BMW (2400m) has been reduced to nine with the scratching of the Robert Hickmott pair Green Moon and Mourayan because of the wet track.

The Group 1 $400,000 Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) will have a full field of sixteen with the first emergency getting run with the withdrawal of the Gai Waterhouse trained filly Amanpour while the other two reserves, Cuban Star and Blue Eyes weren’t required.

The Group 3 $150,000 tab.com.au Neville Sellwood Stakes (2000m) has been reduced to eleven runners with Permit coming out along with Vaquera who will go around in the Group 2 $175,000 Ascend Sales Trophies Emancipation Stakes (1500m).

The Emancipation Stakes will now have a field of ten with the Peter Snowden trained Cameo coming out while in the final race of the day, the Group 3 $150,000 Doncaster Prelude (1500m) the two emergencies, Iggi Pop and Maluckyday aren’t required with Maluckyday going around in the Neville Sellwood Stakes.

Trainer Joe Pride tweeted this morning that Maluckyday will take his place in the Neville Sellwood Stakes.

And he is expecting the track to be upgraded to slow with the sun shining in Sydney this morning, “Maluckyday runs in the 2000 track should race as slow with a peno of 5.7 LAST WEEK over 6,” Pride tweeted.
