Cosmic Endeavour has not been seen at the races since she scored a maiden win at Group 1 level in the Tattersall’s Tiara (1400m) at Eagle Farm on June 21, but she has begun serious preparations for her 2015 Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival campaign that is set to begin in autumn.

Waterhouse told Sky Racing HQ that she has not mapped out the exact path that Cosmic Endeavour will follow during the 2015 Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival, but confirmed that both the Group 1 Coolmore Classic (1500m) at Rosehill Gardens on March 14 and the Doncaster Mile were both on the agenda for the daughter of Northern Meteor.

“I haven’t quiet formulated her plan, but you can imagine that all these good mares will be heading towards the Coolmore, but also a race like the Doncaster could suit her well,” Waterhouse said.

“She has well and truly beaten the boys at previous preparations and she is bigger and stronger now.

“She is a really top class Northern Meteor mare.”

Cosmic Endeavour did not have a race start during the 2014 Spring Racing Carnival and she made her first public appearance in almost six months in a barrier trial at Rosehill Gardens on January 20.

The four-year-old finished an impressive second behind Caped Crusader in a barrier trial over 1030 metres, but Waterhouse said that she is still not happy with the fitness levels of the mare and believes that she will strip much fitter when she has another barrier trial next Friday.

“I think that Cosmic Endeavour is still very fat,” Waterhouse said.

“I don’t think she is fully fit at all, so whatever you saw there I can tell you that you will see a lot more when she retrials on the 30th and then when I have her ready to kick off.”

Cosmic Endeavour started her autumn campaign last year with a win in a benchmark 80 event at Rosehill Gardens in March and she was narrowly denied a maiden black type win in both the Listed Darby Munro Quality (1200m) and the Group 3 Bell Stakes (1200m) before she recorded a most impressive win in the Group 2 Sapphire Stakes (1200m).

She went on to win the Inglis Guineas (1400m) at Scone and the Group 2 Dane Ripper Stakes (1400m) at Eagle Farm before she stamped herself as a genuine star with a narrow win over a strong field in the Tattersall’s Tiara.
