Dissident recorded a maiden win at Group 1 level when he took out the Group 1 Royal Randwick Guineas (1600m) in March and he stamped himself as one of the hottest stallion prospects in Australia when he took out the Group 1 Memsie Stakes (1400m) and Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m) at the start of his 2014 Spring Racing Carnival campaign.

The Sebring entire was set for the Group 1 Cox Plate (2040m) after his Makybe Diva Stakes win and he finished a close second in the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes (1400m) before he had his spring campaign prematurely ended after bleeding in the Group 1 Caulfield Stakes (2000m).

Newgate Farm Sales and Bloodstock Manager Tony Williams confirmed that Dissident would race on during the autumn, with the Group 1 Orr Stakes (1400m) and Group 1 Futurity Stakes (1400m) on the agenda for the talented entire, and he is said that Newgate were delighted to add the son of Sebring to their growing stallion roster.

“We bought him about a month ago and are in the process of syndicating him into 50 shares,” Williams told Breednet.

“He is a horse we are absolutely delighted to have on board and believe he will be huge asset for Newgate in the future.

“At this stage the plan is to leave him with Peter Moody to race on in the autumn.

“We believe he is at his best from 1400 metres to a mile so he will target races such as the Orr Stakes and Futurity Stakes in Melbourne.

“Sydney is a possibility and a race like the All Aged Stakes might well suit.”

Dissident made his racing debut with a win in the Listed Blue Diamond Preview (1000m) at Caulfield on January 26 in 2013 and he has raced at the highest level throughout his racing career to date.

He made his Group 1 debut with a seventh place finish in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) and he went on to be one of the most consistent three-year-olds during the 2013 Spring Racing Carnival; finishing second in both the Group 3 Run To The Rose (1200m) and Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes (1400m) before finishing a credible fourth in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m).

Dissident returned to winning form when he took out the Group 2 Hobartville Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill Gardens in March and recorded a Group 1 win in the Royal Randwick Guineas before failing to repeat that effort in the Group 1 Rosehill Guineas (2000m) and Group 1 Doncaster Mile (1600m).

The four-year-old recorded a dominant two and half lengths win in the Memsie Stakes and scored a narrow victory over Fawkner in the Makybe Diva Stakes before he stamped himself as one of the highest rated horses in Australia with his tough second in the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes.

Dissident will join Foxwedge, Sizzling and Eurozone on the Newgate Farm roster for the 2015 breeding season.
