Dissident was beaten as an odds on favourite first up when third behind Mourinho and It Is Written in the Group 2 $200,000 Jeep Australia Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on January 24.

But Moody is expecting a better ride from Ben Melham back at Caulfield where Dissident scored one of his three Group 1 victories in the 2014 $400,000 New Zealand Bloodstock Memsie Stakes over the same distance as the C.F Orr Stakes.

The premiership trainer regards Dissident as the best horse in the race and expects him to bounce back with a win on Saturday.

“He’s the best horse in the race and he will prove it on Saturday,” Moody told TVN.

“He goes into the race the best horse and will come out the best horse.”

“I wasn’t disappointed with his run at the Valley. (Ben) Melham should have been around them.”

Dissident has drawn midfield at barrier seven in the fifteen horse weight for age field and Melham will have no trouble positioning the four year old stallion in a prominent position.

Moody has made the C.F. Orr Stakes his own in recent years with four wins from the last five runnings.

His outstanding mare Typhoon Tracy picked up back to wins in 2010 and 2011 followed by Black Caviar’s brilliant win in 2012 before Moment Of Change led all of the way to win last year.

Dissident is currently heading the C.F. Orr Stakes market order with Ladbrokes.com.au at $3.20 after opening at $3.80 with the two three year olds Petrology and Java next in the betting at $6.50 and $8 respectively.
