Yendall is booked for five rides at Morphettville, including Sooboog for Darren Weir in the Group 1 $500,000 Darley Goodwood (1200m), but he was looking doubtful of riding at the meeting after being injured in a barrier incident at Ararat on Thursday.

Victoria’s leading jockey sustained rib injuries when his mount Loyal Hero reared up in the starting stalls before the first race and as a result was a late scratching and Yendall was stood down from his remaining rides.

Further examination at the Ararat Hospital cleared Yendall of any breaks, only severe bruising to the ribs, giving him an excellent chance to be fit to ride on Saturday.

Yendall currently leads the Victorian jockey’s premiership table with one hundred and forty-four winners for the 2015-2016 racing season, thirty winners ahead of Damian Lane on one hundred and fourteen.

As well as riding Sooboog in The Goodwood, Yendall is also booked to ride three other Weir trained horses, Master Zephyr in the Listed $100,000 Mitty’s Port Adelaide Cup (2500m), High Lago in the Group 3 $120,000 SA Fillies Classic (2500m) and Tonopah in the Group 3 $150,000 Robert & Fay Gerard  R A Lee Stakes (1600m).

Yendall’’s other ride is Impulse Diavolo for South Australian trainer David Jolly in the $100,000 BenchMark 75 Handicap (1200m).

Sooboog has drawn barrier seven and Weir is happy with the progress of the three year old who is rated a $15 chance for The Goodwood with Ladbrokes.com.au.

“He seems to be good too,” Weir said.

“He still has a bit to come yet, he still looks a bit burly. Obviously running second in the ballot exempt race it is worth having a crack at the Group 1.”

“He is drawn to get a good run, but he wouldn’t want to give them a start like he did the other day, so he needs to step away a bit better and if he gets the right run hopefully he can weigh in.”

“It’s a really good race, there are plenty of chances in the race.”

The Goodwood market order at Ladbrokes.com.au: $3.80 Black Heart Bart, $6 Supido, $7.50 Under The Louvre, $12 Admiral, $14 The Quarterback, Sheidel, $15 Sooboog, $17 Super One, Flamberge, $20 Fast ’N’ Rocking, $26 Churchill Dancer, Big Money, $31 Miss Promiscuity, $34 Faatinah, $41 Nostradamus, $51 Smokin’ Joey, $71 Daytona Grey, $81 Sirbible, $126 Cashed.
