Singapore-based jockey Corey Brown will return to Australia this weekend to ride My Quest For Peace in the Group 1 Caulfield Cup (2400m) on Saturday.

Corey Brown will reunite with My Quest For Peace for the first time since last year's Melbourne Cup in the 2013 Caulfield Cup this Saturday.

Brown has been riding in Singapore since May and with rides at Kranji on Friday night will not arrive in Melbourne until Saturday morning but told Sky Racing HQ that he is looking forward reuniting with the son of Galileo this weekend.

The leading jockey rode My Quest For Peace when he finished fifth in the 2012 edition of the Caulfield Cup and he is upbeat about the five-year-olds chances in this year’s race.

“I spoke to Terry Henderson a couple of weeks ago and he was very keen for me to come back and sit on either Manighar or My Quest For Peace,” Brown said.

Peter Moody, knowing that I have ridden My Quest For Peace in the past, has put me on that.

“I am just happy to get back home and send him around.

“They said that he has been going really well and his work has been great.

“He has drawn a perfect barrier in four and with a little bit of luck in running he should run really well.”

My Quest For Peace has failed to fire in his two runs so far this campaign; finishing 12th in the Group 1 Memsie Stakes (1400m) and 10th in the Group 1 Underwood Stakes (1800m).

Brown said that he watched My Quest For Peace’s run in the Underwood Stakes and does not believe that it was as bad as it looked to the naked eye.

“I watched one of his runs and the tempo didn’t suit; it didn’t look like he went that well but they went very slow and sprinted home which does suit his style of racing,” Brown said.

“I know that the horse is more than capable of doing it and he has been in form that last couple of weeks in his work.

“I am happy to ride him.”

Brown has ridden in the Caulfield Cup on nine occasions but has never had a great deal of success in the race; with his third place finish on Vigor in 2009 his best ever result.
