Caulfield Cup winner Mongolian Khan will undergo a veterinary examination this afternoon to see if he will be fit to take his place in the Group 1 $6m Emirates Melbourne Cup (3200m) at Flemington next Tuesday.
Trainer Murray Baker reported to Racing Victoria Stewards that Mongolian Khan was suffering from colic but the severity of the attack will be closely monitored.
Racing Victoria Stewards released the news via twitter, advising that they will update his condition as soon as any further information becomes available.
“Stable advised showing signs of colic, severity will be better known this afternoon, further info ASAP,” Racing Victoria stewards tweeted.
