Prince Of Brooklyn contested the 11th barrier trial of the morning over 800 metres and he jumped from the gates slowly before he picked up into a midfield position in the early stages of the barrier trial, while Gold Busker took up the running from Tally.

The Magnus colt responded very quickly when he was asked for an extra effort by jockey Dale Smith and he hit the front with about 150 metres left to run before he ran away from his rivals to record a comfortable win from Mr Bobbi and Gold Busker.

Price revealed after the barrier trial that Prince Of Brooklyn does not have the same talent as stablemate Ready For Victory and will not head to Sydney for the Group 1 Golden Rose Stakes (1400m), but he told that the step-up to the mile for the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m) on October 10 could be perfect for the three-year-old.

“I think the mile will be good for him,” Price said.

“I don’t think he’s as quick as Ready for Victory and I think the races he was placed in were really beneficial to him, but he’s still a nice horse.”

Prince Of Brooklyn made his first public appearance when he finished fourth barrier Sogno D’oro in a barrier trial over 800 metres at Cranbourne on April 14 and he was sent to make his racing debut in the Listed Thoroughbred Club Cup (1200m) at Caulfield on May 2, but he kicked and reared in the starting stall and he was withdrawn from the race on veterinary advice.

Price opted to send Prince Of Brooklyn to Adelaide for the Group 3 National Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville on May 16 and the colt showed a powerful turn-of-foot to run away from his rivals in the final stages of the race, while he showed that he had tactical versatility when he led from start to finish to beat El Greco and win the Elvstroem Classic (1300m) at Swan Hill on June 5.

Prince Of Brooklyn has been included in the nominations for the Golden Rose Stakes, Caulfield Guineas and Group 1 Cox Plate (2040m) and he is currently available at 2015 Caulfield Guineas odds of $26.
