Capitalist opened at a quote of $1.50 in pre-post betting markets that were released earlier in the week, but he was out to $1.70 once the final field was released and he has been on the drift ever since.

The son of Written Tycoon made his racing debut with a very comfortable victory in the Listed Breeders’ Plate (1000m) and he went on to take out the Wyong Magic Millions Classic on December 17  as well as the Magic Millions Classic (1200m) at the Gold Coast on January 9.

He was given a freshen-up before returning to the races in the Group 2 Todman Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick on March 5 and he suffered a surprise defeat at the hands of Kiss And Make Up, but he was able to return to winning form in the Group 1 Golden Slipper Stakes (1200m).

The majority of the money in the San Domenico Stakes betting market with Ladbrokes has been Team Hawkes-trained Star Turn, who has been $4.40 into $3.50.

Star Turn recorded his maiden race win in the Piero Plate (1100m) at Royal Randwick on October 24 and he was placed in the Group 3 Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m) at Caulfield on February 13 before he ran well in the Group 1 Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) and the Golden Slipper.

The other horse that is available at single-figure San Domenico Stakes odds is the undefeated Tango Rain.

Tango Rain made his racing debut with a win at Canterbury on June 22 and he beat subsequent The Rosebud winner Thronum to take out the Martin King Handicap (1200m) at Canterbury on July 23.

The 2016 San Domenico Stakes field is rounded out by Gary Moore-trained Mount Panorama ($13) and promising filly Kentucky Miss ($15).
