Let’s Make Adeal is set to contest the 2015 Centaurea Stakes at Morphettville this weekend and trainer Nigel Blackiston believes that the staying mare is in the best condition of her career heading into the Listed event.

Let’s Make Adeal has not recorded a race win since she took out the Guinot International Handicap (1600m) at Sandown in August of 2013, but she returned to the races with a most impressive effort in the Group 2 Queen Of The South Stakes (1600m) at Morphettville on May 2 and was only narrowly denied by Atlantis Dream.

Blackiston told Racing Ahead this morning that he has been delighted with the way that Let’s Make Adeal has returned for her winter preparation and he is extremely bullish about the chances of the Red Ransom mare in the Centaurea Stakes.

“She was fantastic,” Blackiston said.

“It was the race that we targeted to start her campaign in and she was a head away from pulling it off.

“We are looking forward to taking her back to Adelaide for the 2000 metre Listed race this Saturday.

“This is the best I have ever had her.

“We gave her a really good spell after the spring and she has just kept on developing.

“She is big and strong now and is comfortable within herself, which is the important thing.”

Let’s Make Adeal is expected to only have a short winter preparation before she heads to the spelling paddock ahead of another Spring Racing Carnival campaign, but Blackiston revealed that the five-year-old could earn a trip to Queensland for the Group 2 Brisbane Cup (2200m) at Doomben on June 6 if she is able to win the Centaurea Stakes this weekend.

“The goals are the two races in Adelaide and if we were happy with her after that we did put a nomination in for the Brisbane Cup,” Blackiston said.

“If she wins and win comfortable Dennis and I would have a discussion about whether we want to go further north with her or we put her away and get ready for another spring.”

Let’s Make Adeal will have the chance to finally record a black type win this weekend after finishing in the placings of the Listed Penang Trophy (1800m), Group 3 South Australian Fillies Classic (2500m), Group 3 Lexus Stakes (2500m), Group 3 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2600m), Group 2 Herbert Power Stakes (2400m) and Queen Of The South Stakes.
