What race the undefeated champ will run in is still not clear, with trainer Peter Moody revealing that Black Caviar will be nominated for the Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes (1200m) to be run on April 28, as it requires early nomination, but may be aimed at the Group 1 The Goodwood (1200m) on May 12 instead.

The news is a boon for the SAJC (South Australian Jockey Club) who have been in negotiations with the Black Caviar team for over a year in the hopes of securing a run from the superstar. Most recently they have been in a negotiating battle with Brisbane for Black Caviar’s next race.

SAJC Chief Executive Brenton Wilkinson is ecstatic about the news, “This is the news we’ve been waiting for and we couldn’t be more ecstatic”

“Adelaide hosted Phar Lap and Tulloch, who were the greatest horses of their time and it’s appropriate we should get to see the best horse of this generation.”

After her Adelaide run Black Caviar will have her first international campaign when she heads to England to run at Royal Ascot.
