He Or She was the winner of seven races in the West under the care of top local trainer Vaughn Sigley before being transferred to the Lindsay Park team of David Hayes and Tom Dabernig at Euroa in Victoria.

At his first start for the Lindsay Park Team, He Or She ran a handy eighth to Yesterday’s Song in a 1400m Open Handicap at Flemington on June 13.

The Kendel Star gelding had another five starts for Hayes and Dabernig during the Melbourne Spring Carnival with his best effort being a win in a 1600m BenchMark 90 Handicap at Caulfield on October 14.

Then at his next race start He Or She was tested at Group 1 level with an encouraging fifth to Turn Me Loose in the Group 1 $1m Emirates Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on November 7.

Stable spokesman Mark Pilkington said that run in the Emirates Stakes was good enough to aim towards the Australian Cup and also said that the Lindsay Park Team would campaign He Or She in the Autumn with the blinkers going on.

“They deliberately held back from putting blinkers on him before,” Pilkington told The West Australian.

“They just wanted the horse to settle into his new training regime before they started making any significant gear changes.

“The blinkers will make the world of difference by giving him that tactical speed to be closer to the leaders.”

From his eight wins from fifteen starts, He Or She has collected $294,060 in prizemoney.

Hayes and Dabernig are looking forward to a better showing from Extra Zero back on a good track in the Group 2 $250,000 C.B. Cox Stakes (2100m) at Ascot on Saturday.

Extra Zero was a well beaten seventh behind Perfect Reflection in the Group 1 $1m Kingston Town Classic (1800m) at Ascot on December 5 when he failed to handle the wet track conditions.
