Unbeaten three-year-old That’s The One will continue on to Caulfield Guineas Prelude at Caulfield this Saturday despite missing a major lead-up run earlier this month.

The Snippetson gelding was a late scratching at Flemington on September 3 after he cast his leg over the stalls.

Trainer Cindy Alderson believes it was a one off incident.

“We put the barrier blanket on him because he’s a little bit touchy but that was certainly the first time he’d done it on race day,” Alderson said.

“The boys at the gate said he was probably a bit unlucky because another horse set him off and he really wasn’t doing much he just kicked out and got his leg stuck”

“He was in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

Alderson said That’s The One recovered quickly from the unfortunate mishap and will be race fit for this Saturday’s run.

“He appears to be fine, obviously it wasn’t ideal missing a run,” she said.

“He’s a very clean-winded horse… so we’ve just kept him up to the mark.

“I feel that his fitness levels are well and truly where they need to be.”

That’s The One has won his last two races, including a run at Saturday grade, but will be running at Caulfield for the first time.

“He might end up in the back half of the field but it will depend how the race pans out,” Alderson said.

“I think he’ll probably race a little bit worse than midfield.

“I’m happy with the horse, how he lines up against this kind of opposition will be the testing material for him.”
