Leading form analyst Adam Blencowe has Shooting To Win on top of his 2015 Hobartville Stakes odds and believes that the Caulfield Guineas winner is worthy of his place on top of the betting market for the Group 2 event at Rosehill Gardens this afternoon.

Shooting To Win stamped himself as one of the best three-year-olds in the country when he beat Rich Enuff in the Group 1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m) on October 11 last year and he has been well-backed to start his 2015 Sydney Autumn Carnival campaign with a win this afternoon.

Blencowe told RSN that he was most impressed with the performance of Shooting To Win in the Caulfield Guineas and based on that performance he said that he is happy to back the three-year-old in the 2015 Hobartville Stakes.

“Shooting To Win was outstanding when he won the Caulfield Guineas in strong overall figures,” Blencowe said.

“That was a genuine Group 1 performance and I think that he will be fairly cranked to go here first-up from a break.

“He deserves to be top pick because he is the best performed horse in the race and is ahead of the other Group 1 winners like Preferment, Hallowed Crown and Hampton Court.

“I am happy to say that Shooting To Win has an edge.”

The 2015 Hobartville Stakes field is packed full of talent and there are currently seven different horses in the race that are available at single figure odds.

Blencowe believes that the likes of Hallowed Crown and Scissor Kick may be slightly under the odds at their current quote of $6, but feels that Godolphin colt Sweynesse and Chris Waller-trained Kermadec both represent some value at their current odds.

“There is big interest in the return of Sweynesse as well, who we think is a horse that is well above average,” Blencowe said.

“He looks like he is going to be a major player in some of the bigger races.

“Kermadec is another one, he certainly did enough first-up and he looks like he is going to be a genuine Randwick and Rosehill Guineas chance.”

Shooting To Win is currently available at 2015 Hobartville Stakes odds of $4.60 and is a narrow favourite from Hallowed Crown ($6), Scissor Kick ($6), Sweynesse ($7.50), Panzer Division ($7.50), Delectation ($9) and Kermadec ($9).
