The Spring Racing Carnival kicks up another gear at Moonee Valley this afternoon through ten talent-rich races on 2015 Cox Plate Day; highlighted by the talented field of local and international superstars confirmed for the Group 1 Cox Plate (2040m).
All the 2015 Cox Plate Day action will get underway at 12:40pm local time with the running of the Inglis Banner (1000m) for the fresh crop of two-year-olds, and will culminate in the Group 3 G1X.com.au Stakes (1600m) for mares at 6:20pm.

Race 1 Inglis Banner Results
Popular race favourite Dalradian has continued his perfect career start at Moonee Valley this afternoon; producing an impressive final straight sprint to take out the Inglis Banner.
Jumping from the gates well, jockey Brad Rawiller elected to settle Dalradian off the pace of early leaders Delta D’or, Valliano and Pearl Congenial who flew the barriers and ensured plenty of tempo would be injected into the Inglis Banner.
The Reward For Effort colt immediately responded when asked for an extra effort by Rawiller, poking clear to beat Valliano and Pearl Congenial.

Race 2 City Jeep Handicap Results
Talented mare Tawteen has completed an impressive start-to-finish performance to take out the City Jeep Handicap (955m) and deliver the Lindsay Park operation an early win on 2015 Cox Plate Day.
Jumping from the gates well, jockey Steve Baster allowed Tawteen to stride forward and take up a position at the fore of the field; setting a reasonable tempo alongside Diamond Oasis who took up the running at the bend.
Poking clear upon balancing on the final straight, Tawteen continued to find on her way to a seventh career win in only her sixteenth start.

Race 3 Group 2 Moonee Valley Fillies Classic Results
Talented filly My Poppette has led from start to finish to post a career-best result to date in the Group 2 Moonee Valley Fillies Classic (1600m) this afternoon.
Jockey Mark Zahra immediately led the Snippetson filly to the fore of the field from jump; setting only a fair tempo from the barriers and towards the bend.
Hugging the rails rounding onto the final straight, My Poppette only continued to improve and had opened a three length gap by the time she hit the line in the clear of Bengal Cat and Thames Court.

Race 4 Group 3 Telstra Phonewords Stakes Results
Holler has delivered Godolphin another impressive black type win amongst the three-year-old ranks in taking out the Group 3 Telstra Phonewords Stakes (1200m) this afternoon.
Holler exploded from the barriers and immediately took up the pace alongside in-form colt Brockhoff; setting a reasonable tempo early before slowing down approaching the turn.
Hugging the rails and opening a comfortable lead upon arriving at the final straight, the Commands colt continued to find for James McDonald through the final 300m and hit the line comfortably ahead of the Ciaron Maher-trained Brockhoff and stable mate Demonstrate.

Race 5 Listed Crockett Stakes Results
Lake Geneva has been unable to reach the same racing highs as a three-year-old as she did through the Autumn Carnival this year, but has broken through for a maiden black type win in the Listed Crockett Stakes (1200m) this afternoon.
Settling off the pace of early leaders Positive Charge, Haybah and Miss Gidget, jockey James Winks allowed the filly ample time upon arriving in the final straight to balance before mounting the late assault.
Hitting the lead with 200m to race, the daughter of Fastnet Rock maintained a strong enough sprint to withstand a late charge from Valley Sweetheart; Serene Majesty boxing on for third.

Race 6 Group 2 Moonee Valley Cup Results
Classy stayer The United States has continued his slick run of form at Moonee Valley this afternoon; producing a perfectly-timed sprint to take out the Group 2 Gold Cup (2500m).
Prince Of Penzance took up the running in the Moonee Valley Gold Cup from jump and immediately slowed the tempo at the fore of the talent-rich field.
Having received an ideal run in transit on the fence, jockey Hugh Bowman peeled the gelding out at the opportune moment; locking in a fierce late sprint battle with Darren Weir’s star and doing enough to return to winning form.

Race 7 Group 2 Moonee Valley Vase Results
Promising filly Jameka hit the line strongly to take out the 2015 Moonee Valley Vase and will head to the Group 1 Crown Oaks (2500m) as one of the favourite.
Shards took up the running in the early stages of the race and he kicked away at the top of the straight, but Jameka was able to grind him down to return to winning form.
Tarzino started the race as favourite and he was caught towards the tail of the field, but he absolutely savaged the line in an ideal trial for the Group 1 Victoria Derby (2500m).

Race 8 Group 2 Crystal Mile Results
Kiwi raider Turn Me Loose has continued his impressive Spring Carnival campaign in taking out the Group 2 Crystal Mile (1600m) from impressive Australia debutant Bow Creek.
Jumping well, Turn Me Loose strode forward and immediately took up the pace in the Crystal Mile alongside Strawberry Boy and Epsom Handicap third Sons Of John.
Opening a gap of a couple of lengths rounding onto the final straight, Turn Me Loose immediately responded when asked for an extra effort by jockey Opie Bosson; charging home to hit the line a length ahead of Bow Creek.

Race 9 Group 1 Cox Plate Results
Clear race favourite Winx has justified her resounding favouritism at Moonee Valley this afternoon; shattering the course record and delivering a talented field a resounding defeat in the featured Group 1 Cox Plate (2040m).
Winx was offered a great opportunity to figure in ideal running position in the Cox Plate from the rails draw, and did her chances for success no harm when jumping well and settling in prime position within the field as The Cleaner, Arod and Highland Reel set a quick tempo.
Pressing forward and taking the lead rounding onto the final straight, jockey Hugh Bowman immediately asked the mare for an extra effort; who exploded forward and opened up a huge gap on her rivals; hitting the line four lengths ahead of Criterion and Highland Reel.

Classy mare Coronation Shallan has completed an impressive start-to-finish performance to take out the Group 3 G1X.com.au Stakes (1600m) in the final event on 2015 Cox Plate Day.
Coronation Shallan was charged with overcoming the somewhat wide and awkward barrier 10, but jumped well and immediately took up the running alongside Girl Guide and Lucky Lago.
A length clear upon arriving at the final straight, Coronation Shallan produced a strong sprint to withstand a late charge from Azkadellia; Lucky Lago boxing on for third.
