The Gai Waterhouse trained filly Nayeli is ready to run and primed for a slashing first up performance in the Listed $100,000 The Rosebud (1200m) at Randwick on Saturday.

Waterhouse has prepared Naylei for her three year old debut with two Randwick barrier trial wins with stable rider Tommy Berry keen to get her Spring Carnival campaign underway.
“She is a lovely filly,” Berry told Sky Racing HQ.
“She was a very leggy filly last preparation and we always thought that she would improve after a break and she has definitely come back a lot stronger.
“She looks like she will get over a bit of a trip and she is very exciting.
“She showed that she has her fair share of ability last preparation, but she wasn’t a natural two-year-old, she just had that ability shine through.”
“We are really looking forward to her this preparation and I think that she is heading towards the Golden Rose, which is a race that she will be very hard to beat him.”
Nayeli is having her first start since finishing near the tail of the field when fifteenth to Earthquake in the Group 1 $1m Sportingbet Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield in February during the Melbourne Autumn Carnival.
But the More Than Ready filly was unbeaten from her first two starts including a win in the Group 3 $135,000 Mal Seccull Chairman’s Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield on February 1.
Nayeli has drawn barrier two in the eight horse Rosebud field and no doubt Berry will have her in the first half of the field heading into the first turn.
Waterhouse will also saddle up Casino Prince colt Echo Prince who is stepping up sharply in grade after winning a 1000m Hawkesbury Maiden on July 20 with Tim Clark retaining the ride.
Topweight Inkling has drawn near the outside at seven and will have to use his early speed to cross if Joshua Parr wants to take up his regular position near the lead.
The Peter and Paul Snowden trained Inkling has won two of his three race starts with the stable expecting more improvement as the Duporth colt matures more.
“I don’t think he’s focusing on what he’s got to do,” Snowden told AAP.
Recently crowned Sydney jockey’s premiership winner James McDonald has got the nod over stable rider Kerrin McEvoy to ride the John O’Shea trained Sarajevo in the Rosebud in the view of keeping the mount for the Group 1 $1m Golden Rose Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill on September 13.
Sarajevo is the winner of his only race start over 1100m on the Kensington track at Randwick in April and will go to races on Saturday with two barrier trials under his belt, including a win over 840m on August 1.
The David Payne trained Bold Circle is also resuming and will wear blinkers for the first time on Saturday with Jeff Lloyd to ride and will jump from gate five.
“I believe he is a horse who can get a mile (1600m). The Golden Rose is his aim in Sydney and then we will see after that,” Payne said.
Bold Circle was put away after winning at his second race start over 1110m at Rosehill in October last year and will also head towards the Golden Rose Stakes.
