The Racing Appeals and Disciplinary (RAD) Board will hear an appeal by jockey Nash Rawiller at 11.30am (EST) tomorrow.

Rawiller has appealed against the decision of Racing Victoria Stewards and severity of the penalty imposed when he was found guilty of a charge of careless riding on his mount Star Bender in Race 1 the Schweppes Tonic Maiden Plate (1100m) at Bendigo yesterday.

Rawiller had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period to commence at midnight this Saturday, 29 October and to expire at midnight on Sunday, 6 November – a total of 8 race meetings (3 metro, 5 country).

If unsuccessful, Rawiller will miss the ride in Tuesday’s $6m Group 1 Melbourne Cup (3200m) on smokey Unusual Suspect.

Rawiller has said he will fight the suspension vigorously.
